Based on the book by Rebecca Wells. Vivi and her eldest daughter Sidda have been at war for years, but when Sidda is interviewed by Time magazine about her new play, she forgets that whatever she tells the magazine she\'s also telling the world. When her mother reads the article, she is so devastated that her husband cannot calm her down. He defers to her three bosom buddies who have kept Vivi\'s secrets for decades, for help. With the help of Sidda\'s fiance, they kidnap Sidda and bring her back home to Louisiana. There they show her a huge scrapbook which contains \'The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood\' which tracks the four friends from adolescence to middle age and revealing to Sidda why her mother is the way she is.
